No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa introduced him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the detrimental feedback from other people kill his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.

Phil started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated a number of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He says that he is learning every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
