Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to achieve last poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest gamblers in the world. While gambling on web poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I believe television can skew our perception of the real world sometimes. The best poker players in the world might just be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen gambling on web poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
