Double-hand Poker is a modern game with old origins. Based on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the wild west in a fantastic game for new players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player against the casino, unlike most other poker games that gamblers bet with other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, starting players do not need to worry about any other, more skillful people taking their $$$$.
One more Pai Gow benefit is the fairly leisurely game play, rookies can take their time and strategize while not having to make quick decisions.
It’s also much simpler to wager on for a very long time with basically a small bit of cash after all, to lose, both of your hands must be under each of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is given 7 cards face up and the dealer gets seven cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be put together from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the houses.
